A VERSE FOR TODAY
Romans 4:18-21
Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be." Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead -- since he was about a hundred years old -- and that Sarah's womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

Isaiah 41:13
13 I am the Lord your God.
I take hold of your right hand.
I say to you, 'Do not be afraid.
I will help you.'
Good Morning my friends,
A beautiful, but chilly morning here in Sydney, I pray for you today to feel God's love, invite Him into your life, and trust Him as you go about your day, knowing how much He will help you if you trust in Him.
Have a blessed day!!

Tasting Life
Anthony De Mello 1931-1987
Before the young man began his studies, he wanted assurance from the Master.
"Can you teach me the goal of human life?"
"I cannot," replied the Master.
"Or at least its meaning?"
"I cannot."
"Can you indicate to me the nature of death and of life beyond the grave?"
"I cannot."
The young man walked away in scorn. The disciples were dismayed that their Master had been shown up in a poor light.
Said the Master soothingly, "Of what is it to comprehend life's nature and life's meaning if you have never tasted it? I'd rather you ate your pudding than speculated on it."

A VERSE FOR TODAY
Romans 15:2
“Each of us should please our neighbours for their good, to build them up.”
Good morning from a cold windy morning in Sydney!
I was thinking about my neighbour, my friend Trish, and how lucky I am to have a friend close by, but of course, God means for us to love all our friends, and neighbours, and everyone we meet, to show them how much He loves them, and that He is with us every day. Have a blessed day!!

Thankfulness depends on what is in your heart, not what is in your hand.(via Weekly Wisdom)
Most people have no trouble finding things to complain about: traffic is slow, petrol is too expensive, the weather is bad, prices are too high. Yet in every single situation, that same person also has a lot to be thankful for: he can drive, has a car, has a shelter to be protected from the weather, and has the money to purchase necessary items.
Your circumstances may not be all that great, but wherever you are it is God's will that you give thanks in everything (1 Thessalonians 5:18). As a Christian, that is possible because no matter what your circumstances are, you can always thank God for deliverance through Christ (see 2 Corinthians 2:14; Romans 7:24-25).
Indeed, the Israelites knew that thanksgiving was so important that part of the official duty of the tribe of Levi was to thank God: They were also to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord (1 Chronicles 23:30). They had heart of thankfulness and were instructed to be thankful regardless of what happened that day.
The psalmist wrote: Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name (Psalm 100:4). Notice that we can't even enter God's gates unless we're thankful.
It certainly is possible to live giving thanks to God the Father for everything (Ephesians 5:20), because thankfulness depends on what is in your heart, not what is in your hand.

As dawn and a new day breaks here in Sydney, I hear on the morning news about a deadly tornado in Joplin, Missouri in the United States of America.
My heart and prayers go out to the people there.........
Lord have mercy on the lands devestated by tornado's
Have mercy on the lands where the weather has destroyed lives and livelihoods.
Prosper those who rebuild houses,
and strengthen those who rebuild hope
so that entire communities
may face the future without fear.
Amen

Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes
on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed,
arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride,
superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility,
kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his
grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

A VERSE FOR TODAY
Ecclesiastes 11:5
“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.”
Good Morning my friends,
I am up very early this morning, and it's rather cold now as we go into our Autumn weather here in Australia. I looked out the window as I waited for the kettle to boil for my morning coffee, and the full moon was so bright in the early morning sky! The news on TV is telling me about 'The Endevour' leaving NASA to go to the International Space Station, how can I not think that our creator is so amazing!!
Enjoy the blessings of the day!!

Noah's Ark :
Everything I need to know,
I learned from Noah's Ark .
ONE: Don't miss the boat.
TWO: Remember that we are all in the same boat!
THREE: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
FOUR: Stay fit. When you're 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
FIVE: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
SIX: Build your future on high ground.
SEVEN: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
EIGHT: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
NINE: When you're stressed, float awhile.
TEN: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
ELEVEN: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

Acts 4:13
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
(wow, how I love being a disciple of Jesus, how great it is to feel the love of God with me every day!!)

Hello my friends!
It is Mother's Day here tomorrow, Sunday 8th May, and so a time of reflection for me, to remember my dear mother, passed away in 1992, but never far from my thoughts.
I realised that as I went through some old photo's that there are hardly any of us together. I grew up in the 50's and 60's, and as a busy 'working class' family, we just weren't into photography.
WOW, how lucky we are now to have digital, I wish it had been around too, when my son was small!!
I wish all mother's A HAPPY AND BLESSED MOTHER'S DAY!!

THE TROUBLE TREE
The carpenter I hired to help me restore an old farmhouse had just finished a rough first day on the job. A flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric saw quit, and then his old pickup truck refused to start.
While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands. When opening the door he underwent an amazing transformation. His tanned face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.
Afterward, he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.
"Oh, that's my trouble tree," he replied. "I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing is for sure, troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home. Then in the morning I pick them up again."
"The funny thing is," he smiled, "when I come out in the morning to pick them up, there aren't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before."
Everybody needs a trouble tree..

For my friend today:-
Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip—He who watches over you will not slumber, indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you—the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day,nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore

Just for today, Lord
I will live through the next 12 hours
and not try to tackle all of life's problems at once.
I will improve my mind. I will learn something useful.
I will learn something that requires effort, thought, and concentration.
I will be agreeable. I will look my best,
speak in well-modulated voice, be courteous and considerate.
I will not find fault with friend, relative or colleague.
I will not try to change or improve anyone other than myself.
I will have a program. I might not follow it exactly, but I will have it.
I will save myself from two enemies, hurry and indecision.
I will do a good deed and keep it secret.
If anyone finds out, it won't count.
I will do two things I don't want to do, just for exercise.
I will believe in myself. I will give my best to the world
and feel confident that the world will give its best to me.

Yesterday someone asked me why I know God exists.
I said, "One day, a blind man asked me what the wind looked like, though I could see perfectly with my own two eyes, I couldnt tell him. So I took him to a field where the wind was blowing, and then he could feel the wind, he sensed the wind and he knows that it exists. This is How I know God exist, because I can feel him inside of my Heart."
